Aloe Blacc - I Need A Dollar

I also need this show back on the air. What ever happened to that…

Congratulations. You’ve received a cash back reward of $16.30 USD after spending $1,086.38 USD with your [Redacted] Debit Card.
That’s just sad. I don’t even know where the fuck that all went… But yay, $16!

Just an idea I had for a Full Screen Slacker Radio UI that would be a perk for Slacker Radio Plus subscribers. I often just have my desktop playing music while working on my laptop. This would be better to look at (and when full-screen, would keep my screensaver from kicking on) than the full blown web player.
Only thing I see missing from this is a volume widget. I hate player specific volume toggles/sliders, but it would be useful for some people.
I need a Dribbble.

Little Red Barn Hamburgers: Well, so much for a photo every day, right? One day of not shooting led to another and another… You get the point. Anyways, me and Stephan have driven past this little place a ton of times and after watching some tv show about burgers, we were craving a good hamburger so we decided to finally check it out. I got two double meat cheeseburgers and a large fry. I couldn’t get to the second burger. It’s not that the burger was huge, it was definitely large, but it was so filling. Delicious! And at a little bit under $4, a good buy too. Where’s the photo of the food? Well, it was too good and so greasy I wasn’t about to stop and pick up my phone and stop enjoying the food.

Like designers, if you give a programmer a problem with parameters, they’ll apply every bit of genius they have to solve it in the best possible way. If you tell them how to do it, you’ll suffer the wrath of an angry God.

programmers are tiny gods via slantback and brocatus

okay, i am really getting sick of both designers and programmers with their high-horse shit. you shouldn’t have to approach your designer or your programmer with caution, they should be willing and ready to take whatever you throw at them and work it into the best possible solution it can be. no, you will not always get to do exactly what you want. get the fuck over it. it’s becoming really, really obnoxious now.

That’s all peachy and an optimistic way to look at it, but in the real world, that doesn’t happen. Everyone, and I mean everyone, from accounting to IT to management thinks that they are a creative genius. I’m not purporting to be one myself, but I’m the one who has the degree, I’m the one who went to school to learn this trade, I’m the one who knows how to do the work and how to do it right, so when you spend weeks on work and present it and everyone shits all over it, wanting to add starbursts and bevel type, pop-outs and crazy shadows, because they think it looks “hot” and will “pop” then you’ll realize why we go ape-shit when you tell us how to do our jobs. You stick to finance and management, let me deal with the creative. I understand there’s room if you have valid points, but as far as design goes, let me handle it.
